TİP Chairperson Baş: We have to act now to keep her alive 2019-03-08 11:14:38   DİYARBAKIR- TİP Chairperson Erkan Baş who emphasized that the hunger strikes are legitimate actions, said: "The whole society must assume responsibility fast.We must strengthen Leyla Güven's voice and act now to keep her alive."   Democratic Society Congress (DTK) Co-chair Leyla Güven have started an indefinite non-rotating hunger strike with the demand of the termination of the isolation on PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan Novermber 8th in Diyarbakır Type E Closed Prison she was being kept at. Güven continued her hunger strike at her home in Diyarbakır, Bağlar when she was released from prison on January 25. Güven's hunger stike is on its 121st day today. The hunger strike political prisoners started on December 16 is now spreaded to all prisoners in all prisons on March 1. After Güven, Nasır Yağız from Federal Kurdistan District, Hewlér started a hunger strike, which is on its 108th day today. The hunger strikes of 14 journalists and politicians in Strasburg, and İmam Şiş's hunger strike is on its 82nd day.      Turkey Labourer's Party (TİP) Chairperson Erkan Baş who visited Güven on her 120th day  and Diyarbakır District Organization in which HDP Dİyarbakır Deputy Dersim Dağ is on hunger strike since March , evaluated the process to Mezopotamya Agency (MA).   Baş who stated that people need to assume responsibility regarding the hunger strikes, said the hunger strikes are a scream for the people to be able to live together in peace, equally. Baş who stated that the hunger strikes began because of the war policies of AKP, said: "They are trying to strengthen their oppressive government through sawing seeds of hatred agains the Kurdish. Isolation in an important ammunition fot AKP."   Baş who emphasized that the hunger strikers are in critical condition at this point, said: "We need to hurry. There is nothing more valuable than human life." Baş who called on to everyone including unions, democratic mass organizations, artists, writers and non governmental organizations, said: "The whole society must assume responsibility fast.We must strengthen Leyla Güven's voice and act now to keep her and the other hunger strikers alive."
