98 percent disabled but poses danger for the society! 2019-04-08 11:58:15 MARDİN- The application for release for %98 disabled Serdal Yıldırım, whom the ATK reported as 'unable to meet basic needs by himself', was rejected. The opinion of the police headquarters and the District Governership presented by saying 'Poses a threat for the society' was given as justification. Serdal Yıldırım who became %98 disabled due to a traffic accident in Mardin, Kızıltepe in 2010, was sued with the accusation of 'being a member of an illegal organization' and 'recruiting members', because he attended events organized by HDP. He stood trial when Mardin 2nd Criminal Court accepted the indictment about him and then was sentenced to 12 years in prison and was taken under custody with a police raid to his home and referred to Mardin Type E Closed Prison.   Forensic Medicine Institute (ATK)  3rd Specialization Board  decided he can not sustain living alone' after reviewing the health status of Yıldırım. The Rehabilitation Center and ATK did not express their opinion on whether he would be a danger to public safety on the grounds that it was not a medical issue.
