'They can not stand up' 2019-04-13 10:53:05 ADANA- Serkan Elçiçek, son of Hadi Elçiçek (51) who has a heart disease and has been on hunger strike since March 1 in Tarsus Prison, said:" The guards took their arms and brought them to visitation, they could not stand up on their own." One of the hunger strikers demanding the termination of isolation is 51 years old Hadi Elçiçek who has a heart disease. He has been on hunger strike since March 1 despite his condition in Tarsus No 2 Type T Prison.   Elçiçek was sentenced to 36 years in prison and he was arrested in 1999. Elçiçek joined the hunger strike action despite his sickness because his friends was on hunger strike. Serkan Elçiçek who last visited his father on April 8, said the guards took the arms of the hunger strikers because they could not stand up on their own and that their conversation was recorded. He also added that they had difficulty in speaking and they had problems with their memories.   Hadi Elçiçek's Son Serkan Elçiçek said:" We can not sleep at home. We think about them day and night. We claim their demands and want the isolation to be removed at once.People are dying while the days are passing. We want life, not death" and called on to the Ministry of Justice for their demands to be met.
