Basic needs of the hunger striker put in solitary confinement is not being met 2019-04-18 09:57:36 DİYARBAKIR - According to the information obtained, the basic needs of Ayetullah Ay who is on hunger strike for 49 days in Kırıkkale Type F Prison, is not being met.   While the hunger strike of Democratic Society Congress (DTK) Co-chair Leyla Güven continues, one of the political prisoners on hunger strike is Ayetullah Ay in Kırıkkale Prison who is incarcerated for 15 years now.    Mother Hidayet Ay who visited her son who is on hunger strike since March 1, described the attitude of the prison administration and what she has been through.   Mother Ay stated that she can only visit her son once a month for ten minutes, said that her son is being kept in solitary confinement with another hunger striker with no companions and that even their basic needs are not being met.   Mother Ay who stated that the guards are entering the wards of the prisoners and tear even their clothes apart before the visitation time, said: "They are all our children. They will not end the hunger strike until their demand is met. My son is sick. His gall bladder is surgically removed. He has other sicknesses. He says he will continue the hunger strike until the end."   Ay, told about the visitation day: "An old couple who could not use the eye scanner right was insulted by the staff. They kept wanting me to hold my dress up in every check point. I told them they have already checked many times. Then they send someone else to search me. They told me 'Why don't you speak Turkish? Are you being hostile against us, are you insulting us?' I told them that I don't speak Turkish. I just don't know the language.    Mother Ay who stated that other prisoner relatives are going through the same thing, said they will not leave their children alone and called for support to the society.
