Humans' Rights Defenders denunciate 2019-04-20 15:14:25 İSTANBUL - Humans' Rights Defenders will make a denunciation regarding the violent police intervention against the mothers who held a vigil in front of Gebze Type M CLosed Prison for their relatives on hunger strike.   Humans' Rights Defenders reacted to the police intervention against the relatives of the prisoners who have been helding vigils daily since April 9 for their relatives on hunger strike protesting the isolation in İmralı.   Humans' Rights Association (İHD) İstabul Branch Co-chair Gülseren Yoleri who stated that they wathed what happened with sorrow, stressed that the intervention to mothers who wanted to organize a watch for their children's right to life is unaccaptable.   Yoleri who underlined that all Women's Commissions in all of İHD's branches will make a criminal complaint, said: "We will denunciate next monday. Because that torture is not acceptable by law or by society.   Türkey Human Rights Foundation (TİHV) İstanbul Representative Ümit Efe who says this torture to mother shows the sad point Turkey came in terms of humans rights, said: "Torturing people so prominantly and doing this bullying so headlong, battering women, humiliating and insulting them, not taking their demand to rights in into account is unaccaptable. To subjecting torture even it is prohibited this carelessly and publicly is disregarding the domestic and international conventions Turkey have signed. This is very concerning in terms of humans' rights."
