Ahmet Topkaya on death fast: We are at where words fail

	DİYARBAKIR - Ahmet Topkaya who is on a death fast in Diyarbakır Type D Prison, said: "We are at where the words fail. This action is not desperation. On the contrary, it shows our strength. We will break the isolation with our will and resistance."

	The hunger strike Democratic Society Congress (DTK) Co chair Leyla Güven initiated continues on its 177th day. The hunger strikes began after her on December 16, spreaded to all prisons on March 1. 15 prisoners from 4 different prisons turned their hunger strike action to a death fast protesting the silence of the government. 

	 

	 Ahmet Topkaya who turned his hunger strike he started on March 1, to a death fast on April 30, sent a message via his family. Topkaya who stated that their health is fine and their morale is high, said: "The people must lend their voices to this resistance, to support this resistance. We are at where the words fail. This action is not desperation. On the contrary, it shows our strength. We will break the isolation with our will and resistance."

	Topkaya who saluted the mothers being subjected to police violence everyday in Gebze, Kızıltepe and Diyarbakır to support the hunger strikers, said: "We can not understand how the youth and the people remains unresponsive. Our people should stand with our mothers in their resistance."
