Police intervention to the families in Bakırköy: 4 people under custody 2019-05-06 14:27:13 İSTANBUL - The police intervened to the mothers who wanted to march to the Bakırköy Prison to support the hunger strikers and took 4 people under custody. HDP Deputy Ömer Öcalan accompanied the mothers.  The families who gathered in E-5 Highway, wanted to march to the prison. Police warned that they will only allow those who is listed in the prisoner visitation. While the first degree relatives were allowed inside the prison, police said they will intervene if the others do not disperse.   Families who came to the gates of the prisons, waited for People's Democratic Party Deputy Ömer Öcalan to come. Öcalan told the police that the families want to hold a sit in for 10 minutes and they will leave after that.   Police stated that it is forbidden to demonstrate in front of the prison and that they will  not allow it. Police also said: "We know everyone in the prison are terrorists and if you do not disperse in 5 minutes we will intervene."   The families stated that they will leave and start walking chanting. Police intervened to the crowd with tear gas and took 4 people under custody. They also confiscated the memory cards and the cameras of the journalists.
