Dr. Gül: Ministry of Justice should invite TTB immediately

	İZMİR - Dr. Zeki Gül who stated 'None of us can be healthy was long as people in prisons are on hunger strike or death fast', said the demands must be met and added: "Ministry of Justice should invite TTB immediately.

	 

	Dr. Zek Gül who has been in the struggle of humans rights with Turkish Medical Association (TTB) and Turkey Humans Rights Foundation (TİHV) since 1995 and who is in the delegations of prisons monitoring, made a call for the demands of Leyla Güven and the prisoners be met immediately. Gül who stated that the prisoners are in a critical condition based on his experiences from the past, said the Ministry of Justice must invite a committee including TTB members to the prisons.

	 

	Gül who emphasized that they should seek the termination methods before the hunger strikers are medicalized, said: "The talks must start before losing any more time. The minisry of Justice must invite independent committees including TTB members without losing any more time, better yet, today in the next hours, like they did in the past.The examples of the world also show that the delegations with which physicians are members, not as a process and mediation, but as a facilitator, are extremely valuable.It is possible to say as the medical association or the humans right watch committees that observe the hunger strikes since 1995, every process that does not include independent committees is a handicap and is open to risk. Therefore, like they did before, the Ministry of Justice must invite TTB immediately. Especially in critical prisons, the meeting of experienced physicians of TTB with prison physicians including face-to-face meetings with the prisoners will reduce these problems."
