Akın: People have pointed at İmralı one more time. 2019-05-27 11:53:12 BATMAN - Sedat Akın who ended his 140 day hunger strike, emphasizing that Öcalan's message was a result of a resistance, said: "The people who demand peace and democracy have once again pointed at İmralı."   The hunger strike action initiated by Democratic Society Congress (DTK) Co-chair and People's Democratic Party (HDP) Hakkari PM Leyla Güven is terminated after PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan sent a message calling on to the hunger strikers 'I am expecting you to end your action'.   Sedat Akın who continued the hunger strike he started in Erzincan Type T Closed Prison on February 19, has also ended his hunger strike after 140 days.   Akın was taken to a private hospital in Diyarbakır for treatment. Akın who was experiencing loss in vision, head aches, weight loss, spoke to Mesopotamian Agency (MA) before he started the treatment.     Akın who stated that what kept him standing for 140 days was his faith in peace and democracy, said: "The ideas of the wise man kept us standing. His ideas and visions are very important to us. He has ideas that will bring peace and democracy to these lands. We came to existance with him and we feel in dept to him. We gave a promise to him and to ourselves.We earned this achievement and this victory. We told that better days are onwards after this process.8 of our friends have fallen on this way.We will continue their legacy in our struggle. We will struggle to make this life better. We will continue in our path."    Akın who stated that the people continue of the path of Öcalan, said: "He once told in an interview 'The people are standing with me.' We are with him just like he said. We want democracy. We want peace. That's why our commitment to him is getting stronger every day. The people have got their message across to the government.The people who demand peace and democracy have once again pointed at İmralı. The government once again understood with this resistance what the people want. I wish we had won this victory without losing 8 of our friends. We will continue their legacy in our struggle."
