Campaign by the HRA for the implementation of the ECtHR decision to all detainees 2019-08-05 11:51:25   İSTANBUL - Human's Rights Association (İHD) İstanbul Branch President Gülseren Yoleri stated that the ECHR's decision in the State Security Court (SSC) to conduct a fair trial and not a retrial was not applied equally to all prisoners, said all prisoners and their families should apply to HRA.   Many prisoners were able to be released after The European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) stating that there was no fair trial in SSC and ruled a retrial. While some prisoners were being released, some of them showed no improvement. The lawyers and the families of the prisoners stated that the principle of equality should be followed.   Stressing that about 500 Hizbullah members have been released to this date, Yoleri said that only 8 Kurdish prisoners have been released so far, and that many applications have been made to their associations against this discrimination.   Yoleri, stating that considering the increase in the applications, they will launch a campaign as the HRA, said: "We will announce to the public what we will do about this campaign. In order for the campaign to be carried out effectively and for the unequal implementation to end, families and detainees must apply to the HRA. These applications are very important because we can continue this campaign more strongly thanks to these applications. Prisoners can also contact us by letter. If we run a good campaign until the parliament is opened, maybe we can provide a regulation in this judicial package that will ensure that the order of retrial is applied more uniformly. Therefore, we expect these applications to be made as soon as possible ”.
