Supporting hunger strikers considered a crime 2019-10-01 13:51:19 MARDİN - An indictment was filed in Mardin on the allegations of 'being a member of an organization' against HDP and DBP co-chairs who were arrested in July and the PM members of HDP. Supporting the people on hunger strike considered to be a crime in the indictment. People's Democratic Party (HDP) and Democratic Regions Party (DBP) Mardin Provincial organizations were detained within the scope of the operation in July, DBP Mardin provincial co-chairs Leyla Bozkurt and Şehmuz Sun and HDP Party Assembly (PM) members Alaattin Semir Zuğurli and Sedat Ay were arrested. HDP Provincial Co-Chair Ali Sincar, who was arrested on February 19 due to the introductory meeting organized by his party before the March 31 local elections, was also arrested under the same investigation.   The Mardin Chief Public Prosecutor's Office completing the investigation about the HDP and DBP members who are still arrested, prepared an indictment on accusations of 'being a member to an illegal organization'. The indictment was accepted by Mardin 3rd High Criminal Court. The first hearing will be held on November 14.   The indictment accused the people of supporting the hunger strikes of the prisoners who demanded the continued isolation of PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan to be terminated. The prosecutor's office, relying on the statements made by the PKK officials, claimed that the actions and activities regarding the hunger strikes, was carried out with PKK instructions.
