Birgün Daily Web Editor Demir under custody

	İSTANBUL - Editor-in-chief of daily BirGün's website has been detained.

	 

	Hakan Demir, the editor-in-chief of daily BirGün's website, was detained in the morning in a police raid in his home.

	 

	"The reason for the detention is thought to be some news reports published on the website", BirGün reported.

	 

	İbrahim Varlı, an editorial board member at BirGün, said in a tweet that Demir was detained because of a report on the operation that was "received from agencies."

	 

	Turkey began a military operation in northern Syria yesterday (October 9).
