
18 people buried by avalanche in Van countryside

	VAN - In the countryside of Van province, 18 people were buried by an avalanche.

	An avalanche occurred in the evening hours in the area of Upper Narlıca between Bahçesaray and Çatak districts of Van province.

	&nbsp;

	Operator Bahattin Karagülle who rescued himself called the authorities and told about the avalance.

	&nbsp;

	A minibus, a taxi and a construction machine were buried by the snow masses. A total of 18 people were stuck under snow. While 7 of them were rescued, the dead bodies of 5 people have been reached.&nbsp;

	&nbsp;

	The People's Democratic Party (HDP) Van Provincial Organization and HDP Van MP Murat Sarısaç who heard about the accident, visited the citizens who were admitted to hospital and offer condolences about those who lost their lives.&nbsp;

	&nbsp;

	The rescue work is still ongoing. Numerous people have come from the surrounding villages to search for the buried victims including 112 Emergency Service, AFAD, UMKE, Gendermerie to continue the search and rescue for one person who is still stuck under snow.
