Kubilay: Turkey must leave Syrian territorry withour reserve 2020-02-07 13:14:13 ANKARA - HDP Spokesperson Günay Kubilay who criticized the policies of the government that led to the escalating tension in Idlib, said: "Turkey must, without reserve, leave Syria. The path to a democratic political process should be established and Turkey must respect to the right of the Syrian people to determine their own destiny." Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Spokesperson Günay Kubilay held a press conference at the party's Headquarters. Kubilay, who started his speach by mentioning those who lost their lives during the 79 day curfew declared in Cizre district of Şırnak in 2015, said: "4 years ago today, 189 people were burned to death in the basements of 2 buildings in Cizre. There are a lot to say about Cizre but be sure of that, the history will write the brutality in Cizre. The names of Mehmet Tunç, Mother Taybet will live through our children and grand children. It is our obligation to call those assailants to account for that massacre. No one should doubt that we will call them to account, sooner or later. We will not forgive those who lost their lives not we will make anyone forget."   Pointing out that the risk of war increases in Idlib every day, Kubilay said: "The final picture reveals an extremely dire situation for the AKP- MHP government. On one hand, there is the Syrian army supported by Russia and Iran, on other hand there is the Turkish army that is ordered to keep HTŞ and FSA safe. The Syrian army is trying to clear its territory from the Al Qaeda's HTS gangs. What is Turkey doing there? What are the soldiers of Turkey doing in there?"   A few days ago, 8 soldiers died in Idlib. Erdoğan must explain why did those soldiers died in Idlib and why Turkey is not withdrawing their troops from Syria. Erdoğan gets furiously angry with those who demands such answers. He can not get angry. He is not a simple Turkish citizen. He carries 3 titles and sits in 3 chairs that has to give an account of what he does. As the third biggest party that has a group in parliament, we will ofcourse call Erdoğan to account for a foreign policy that turned our country to hell.    ERDOĞAN CAN NOT ESCAPE FROM HIS RESPONSIBILITIES   Erdoğan and his council of minister are backed in a corner both in Idlib and in Libya and they can not escape from this responsibility by simply claiming they are fooled again. Because no agreement is applicable that does not bind the Syrian army and the Damascus administration. Therefore, if Erdogan says "Putin has deceived me", he will be decieving himself."   TURKEY MUST LEAVE SYRIA   We are the only party in the parliament that said 'no' to the war resolutionin Syria. We have never been with those who bring fuel to the fire and we never will be. We will continue explaining Turkey why we need a peaceful, principled and virtuous foreign policy. We repeat our call; Turkey must leave Syrian territory without reserve.  The path to a democratic political process should be established and Turkey must respect to the right of the Syrian people to determine their own destiny."
