Prosecutor refers to Ruken Demir's reports as 'alleged interviews' 2020-03-03 14:42:01 İZMİR -  The prosecutor who prepared the indictment against our reporter Ruken Demir referred to her interviews as 'allaged interviews' and demanded her to be prosecuted for terrorism charges. An indictment was prepared for our reporter Ruken Demir who was taken into custody in Ida Mountains following up the protests against the Canadian gold company with the charge of 'being a member to an illegal organization'. The indictment where Demir, was accused of her phone calls with her friends and Eagean Association for the Families of Prisoners and Humans' Rights Association İzmir Branch executives was accepted by İzmir 19th High Criminal Court.   SHE TARNISHES THE IMAGE OF THE STATE   The indictment includes Demir's articles about the hunger strikes, Ida Mountains protests and her phonecalls. The prosecutor accusing Demir of being in the 'Press committee of KCK, stated that Demir was in contact with prisoners of PKK /KCK and their families and she condcuted interviews with these people, revealing the conditions in the prisons, claiming they were all fiction. The prosecution defining Demir's interviews as 'alleged interviews', accused Demir of tarnishing the image of the state.   Demir's first hearing will be held on March 5 at the 19th High Criminal Court in İzmir Bayraklı Courthouse.
