Dr. Güngör: Test centers are insufficient 2020-03-12 14:22:42 ANKARA - Ankara TTB Central Council member Dr. Selma Güngör , stating that the  the test centers used in the diagnosis of coronavirus are insufficient, emphasized that a mechanism that citizens can provide free of charge should be created. The number of people who lost their lives due to the coronavirus (Kovid-19) epidemic that emerged in Wuhan, China which spreaded to many countries in a short time, increased to 4 thousand 638 people. The number of the infected people has exceeded 126 thousand as of today. Health Minister Fahrettin Koca has also announced that one person is infected with the virus in Turkey. Koca also announced that the number of people who have been tested for suspicion of the virus and whose results have been negative is over 2 thousand.   Turkish Medical Association (TTB) Central Council member Dr. Selma Güngör emphasized that the measures against the virus should be increased.   'THE PLACES THAT INFECTED PERSONS ARE TREATED MUST BE DISCLOSED'   Pointing out that it is very important to be transparent in this process, Güngör said, “Transparency in relation to coronavirus is about where the case is seen. When we found out that it was seen in Iran, we closed our borders. When we found out that it appeared in Italy, we limited round trips. Now, the place of the incident should be explained in order for the public to take precautions."    'TEST CENTERS ARE INSUFFICIENT'   Güngör stating that there are 3 test centers to diagnose Kovid- 19 and they are in Ankara, İstanbul and Erzurum, said that the test centers are insufficient. Güngör, stating that the infectious disease specialists says that the disease spreads algorithmically, not arithmetically, said: "A case we see today can cause thousands of cases in 5 days.
