Prisoners sent to Diyarbakır after the riot were battered 2020-04-07 13:39:03 DİYARBAKIR - In the report prepared by MED TUHAD-FED and ÖHD as a result of the meetingd they conducted in prison, it was noted that the prisoners who were sent to Diyarbakır No.4 T Type were battered after the riot in Batman M Type and that no measures were taken against the epidemic. Attorneys from Lawyers for Freedom Association and Med Prisoners and Convicted Families Legal and Solidarity Associations (MED TUHAD-FED) visited the prisoners that were transfered to Diyarbakır No 4 Type T Closed Prison following the riot in Batman Type M Closed Prison. The meetings were reported by the attorneys at the request of the families of the prisoners. It was stated in the report that around 400 prisoners and convicts were sent from Batman to Diyarbakır T Type Prison No. 4 after the rebellion.   The report conveyed the stories of the prisoners as follows: "It was reported that the rebellion ended by an agreement like it was reflected to the press. During the post- riot transfer period, it was stated that the personnel in the ring bus were not wearing latex gloves or masks. The prisoners told that they were insulted and beaten all the way to the Diyarbakır prison gates. During the meeting we conducted, traces of beatings and bruises were observed on the face and under the eyes of the prisoners as well as other body parts. The prisoners also stated that they did not have any access to hygiene materials and told that no measures were taken inside the wards. The prisoners also stated that they were given 2 meals per day and that they were banned from being visited by their families."
