Psychologist Çakı: Don't let the anxiety rule your life 2020-04-12 12:13:35 VAN- Pointing attention to the outcomes of coronavirus regarding the socio-cultural and psychological destruction, psychologist Onur Çakı stated that a new concept called “coronaphobia” has entered human life and said, “Don't let the anxiety of coronavirus rule your life.” Evaluating the effects of the the coronavirus outbreak on human psychology, psychologist Onur Çakı talked about ways to protect mental health. Emphasizing that pandemic creates socio-cultural and psychological destructions in human life, Çakı said that a new concept called “coronaphobia” has entered human life.    Çakı listed the negative psycological  outcomes of COVID-19 under three categories: anxiety, depression and coronaphobia. Çakı said, “When it is considered in terms of depression, there is a disruption of emotion, thought, behavior and physical functions as a reflection of disorders in brain functions. It can be considered as pessimistic-sad mood, pessimistic thought content, feeling of helplessness and not enjoying life. Coronaphobia appears to be all of the paranoid thoughts such as people not trusting anyone, being under threat despite no evidence, being socially isolated, being over-skeptical and believing in baseless conspiracy theories as such".   MA / Barış Dönmez - Mesut Bağcı
