MED TUHAD-FED: The doctor visiting Tarsus Prison results positive for the coronavirus 2020-04-12 15:32:55 DİYARBAKIR - Announcing the report they prepared regarding the violations of rights in prisons, MED TUHAD-FED Federation stated that a doctor who has been visiting the wards in the Tarsus Prison for the medical examination of the prisoners tested positive for COVID-19. The report, which has just been shared by the Mezopotamya Federation of Legal Solidarity Associations for The Detainees and Convicts (MED THAD-FED), showed the evidences of the coronavirus spread through the prison and that the number of the infected and the prisoners who lose their lives due to COVID-19 increases each and every day. The report stated that the new execution law, which has recently brought to the discussion in the parliement, is against the "principle of equality". The federation called the authorities to enlarge the extend of the new execution law regarding the release of prisoners.   'DOCTOR WHO EXAMINED THE PRISONERS GOT CORONAVIRUS'   According to the findings of the report, a doctor who visited the prisoners in Tarsus Type-T Prison, has been recently reported to be COVID-19.   Among the many findings of the report listed as follows:   A prisoner, named İsmet Nice, in İzmir Aliağa Şakran Open Prison has lost his life due to coronavirus.   A doctor working in the İzmir Aliağa Şakran No.4 Type-T Prison has also tested positive for coronavirus.   Even though a guardian's family has been detected to be infected, the guardians still keeps to work in Van High Security Prison.   In Kayseri Bünyan Female Prison many prisoner women show symptoms such as throat and breathing problems and some of them begins to lose their sights, yet they are not taken to any hospital for a medical examination.   Many prisoners in Hilvan Prison, who has serious hearth problems are not taken to medical examination and the soldiers force them to accept handcufs to be taken to a hospital.
