Kurtulmuş: Economic contraction will also affect Turkey 2020-04-26 16:50:44 ANKARA- AKP General Vice President Numan Kurtulmuş said "The economic contraction period after the pandemic will also affect Turkey" and warned about the Turkish economy. AKP Vice President Numan Kurtulmuş shared some comments on a television program he attanded regarding the coronavirus. Answering the questions on coronavirus and the current stage of the pandemic in Turkey, Kurtulmuş said, "The data of the last few days comes as we expected for, thanks to the God. We are working to decrease the pandemic until the Ramadan Feast (Bairam)".   Denying the claims regarding that the government hides the actual death numbers due to the virus, Kurtulmuş said, "I guess some of these people are pooring out their evil thoughts in the heads" and he continued his statements as follows: "Of course we have a road map. Our main goal here is to shift to the plateau and decrease the pandemic. The measures will be removed gradually, step by step and our people will eventually go back to their normal everyday lives. We should be very careful with the conomy. God forbid, we are taking the necessary measures without persistent damage. We have announced several financial packages around the total sum of 200 billion TL to support our our citizens and the bussiness world.The economic contraction period after the pandemic will also affect Turkey, of course, but Turkey has an advantage with regard to the public debt. Our debt has decreased in a serious level."
