Dismissal decision of Co-Mayors extended

	ŞIRNAK - The Turkish state decided to extend the bans systematically and this time extended the "dismissal" decisions it made about Cizre and İdil municipal co-mayors and city council members.

	 

	The Ministry of Interior had appointed trustees in place of co-mayors after seizing the HDP-run Cizre and Idil municipalities (in the province of Şırnak) in October and November last year.

	 

	The General Directorate of Provincial Administration, affiliated to the Ministry, said in a new letter sent to both municipalities that the decision on Cizre Municipality co-mayor Mehmet Zırığ and Idil Municipality co-mayor Songül Erdem was extended for two more months.

	 

	The same decision was made on Ali Akdeniz, a member of the Provincial Assembly of the HDP, and Fehime Saruhan, a member of the Council of the Silopi Municipality of HDP.

	 

	Lawsuits were filed with allegations such as "being a member of an illegal organization" and "making propaganda for an illegal organization".
