Günay: Closing down our parties will not work

	ANKARA - HDP Spokesperson Ebru Günay said: "Many parties have been closed until now. We were subjected to election thresholds. They have played many games, changed the rules of that games. Non of them gace any results and none of them will work.

	People's Democratic Party (HDP) Spokesperson Ebru Günay explained the details of the "Democratic Struggle Program" and made evaluations about the agenda at the press conference held by her party. Reminding that they announced the "attitude document" in Istanbul with HDP Co-Chairs Pervin Buldan and Mithat Sancar, Günay said: “In 9 main articles, we called the social groups and the opposition, who are disturbed by what is happening, who are anxious, and who want the current situation to change to come together.

	 

	'THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE IS OUR RED LINE'

	 

	Underlining that they oppose all kinds of coups with the same determination, Günay said, “People's will is the red line of our political understanding and we will never let it be violated. If there are people that still don't understand, let us say one more time that HDP is allergic to coups and HDP does not compromise."

	 

	Stating that the goverment is instructing the judiciary to close HDP by making calls about it, Günay said: "Here we openly file a criminal complaint. We call the judiciary on duty, we want our criminal complaint to be processed. The Political Parties Law, Election Law and the election thresholds are brought to the agenda to prevent the rise of our party. Today, those who campaign to close down HDP were campaigning to close down AKP yesterday. Recalling the law suit the Supreme court filed against AKP in 2008, Günay said: "Those who are now campaigning with AKP to close down HDP, were screaming at the top of their voices from the televisions to close down AKP. AKP have based their politics on this the whole time. This can only be explained by ignorance. They do not know history, they are alienated from the facts. So far dozens of parties have been closed, dozens of election thresholds have been placed in front of us. They played games inside of games and changed the rules upon their will. They never worked. And they never will work."
