MUĞLA –  Gökova Akyaka Women's Platform stated that they will not allow Cemal Metin Avcı who murdered Pınar Gültekin to be acquitted and said: "We will never allow him to be granted good conduct abatement."

Gökova Akyaka Women's Platform made a press statement following a march, regarding the killing of Pınar Gültekin. A lot of women attended the press release with a banner of 'Women's murders are political'.

Pınar Hakgüden, reading the statement on behalf of the women, stating that the impunity, the good conduct abatement and unequal enforcement laws paved the way for the genocide for the women, said Pınar was the third women murdered in Muğla in 2 months. Stating that some AKP MPs have gone so far that they signed the Violence Law No 6284 without thinking and they made a mistake, Hakgüden said: "We demand the unconditional implementation of the basic rights such as right to life and right to security for women.  Murderers and male-dominated governments always have an excuse for womens' murders. Those who encourage these men by questioning the lifestyle of women and saying that the reason for the women's murders are marital, are responsible for the killing of Pınar. We will never allow the murderer Cemal Metin Avcı, to be acquitted, and to be granted good conduct abatement. We will be taking to the streets so as not to allow one more women to be slaughtered."

Following the press release, the women marched on the streets of Akyaka with slogans.
