DİYARBAKIR - Stating that the Shengal Pact is very similar to the Sadabat Agreement, PİA Chair Mehmet Kamaç said: "Just like the Sadabat Pact made between Turkey, Iran and Iraq, Shengal Agreement is a continuation of the Anti-Kurd movement."

The Shengal agreement was signed between the Iraqi central government and the Federated Kurdistan Region administration, which envisions the "restructuring of the Êzidî homeland Shengal in administrative and security areas". According to the agreement, 2 thousand 500 security forces will be deployed to the region. In this context, a joint committee will be established between Hewler and Baghdad for the review and reconstruction of Shengal's security and administrative management. The agreement in question which was designed by Turkey and approved by Federated Kurdistan Region Administration, Iraqi Government, United Nations, US and the international coalition aims to purge the current political and military structure consisting of the Êzidî.

With the signing of the agreement, the Kurdish national unity that has been discussed for some time now has taken a hit. Human and Freedom Party (PİA) Chair Mehmet Kamaç spoke about the Shengal Agreement.

Underlining once again that the Kurdish gains are targeted, Kamaç stated that the possible fragmentation situation will cause the Kurds to lose a lot in this process. "Parties and institutions in Southern Kurdistan should act on these realities," said Kamaç. They should express their historical role at this point. The strongest response to these attacks and destruction policies is national unity. Kurdish forces and parties should not accept this agreement with this knowladge. Just like the Sadabat Pact made between Turkey, Iran and Iraq, Shengal Agreement is a continuation of the Anti-Kurd movement. This is an agreement made by international states against the Kurds. This agreement aims to prevent unity. What needs to be done in this process is to make the dialogue between the Kurds permanent. "

Kamaç stated that the Shengal agreement came to the agenda during the period when national unity between Kurds was being discussed and that the fact that it was signed has an effect on the unity, said: "National unity is an issue on the agenda for not only North Kurdistan but also for Rojava. An actor of this agreement is the KDP. Kurdish parties should be careful against this.  For national unity, the issue should be approached consciously and in a positive manner."
