VAN - Two security guards raped an Iranian woman at the Kurubaş Repatriation Center on Gürpınar road. The two officials whose statements were taken were later arrested.

 

There was an incident of rape in the Kurubaş Repatriation Center (GGM) affiliated to the Van Provincial Immigration Administration, located on the road to Van center and Gürpınar district. According to the information obtained, Iranian Z.M was quarantined at the GGM. On July 22, after the lights out at night, İ.H.K., a security guard at the GGM, entered the room and raped Z.M. It was learned that security officer Y.V has also raped Z.M.

 

The rape that took place on July 22, was revealed when Z.M told what happened to her to the GGM Director on July 26. The women who gave her statement to the Edremit Gendermerie Command, identified 2 of the 3 people who raped her. The two security officers were arrested by the Criminal Court of Peace for 'qualified sexual abuse' and sent to Van Type T Closed Prison.

 

It was learned that İ.H.K told that he was a patriot and he told it was a slander while Y.V also denied the incident. It was learned that the indictment against the defendants hasn't yet been prepared.
