ISTANBUL - Kurdish politician Tarık Ziya Ekinci, who emphasized peace and democracy in the face of the tension desired to be created in the Federated Kurdistan Region, called for false friendships not to be respected.

The reactions continue against the tension created by the KDP in the Federated Kurdistan Region. Murat Karayılan expressed his concerns about the KDP's special troops to be placed in the places where his forces are, and called on the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) Leader Mesut Barzani to take the situation in hand. Barzani, on the other hand, stated that “they made war between Kurds forbidden” but gave a signal of “war” anyway.

The declaration of Barzani, interpreted as a "declaration of war" in the Kurdish public opinion, created a new fear of birakuji (war of brothers). Despite calls from Kurdish political parties, non-governmental organizations, institutions and individuals to reduce tension in the face of this danger, the KDP has not yet given up on its policies.

CALL FOR DIALOGUE

Evaluating this tension between Kurds, experienced Kurdish politician-writer Tarık Ziya Ekinci emphasized that peace and democracy should be the motto of everyone. Stating that the conditions in the Middle East are very harsh, Ekinci said, “It should not be forgotten that the powerful states lying down in ambush create conflicts by provoking small conflicts between peoples with all their means in order to expand their sovereignty. Here is the example of Armenia-Azerbaijan that cost the lives of many people. Eventually the sovereign states of the region won. I hope that the organizations representing our Kurdish brothers living in Iraq and Syria will definitely resolve their internal conflicts by negotiating. Starting an armed fight by being provoked harms not only themselves but the whole region. It is necessary to be dominant in the region and to keep in mind the possibility of raiding one or more of the aforementioned organizations with weapons and money, and not to respect false friendships."

PEACE CALL

Underlining that every organization should allocate its work to the internal order and prepare the conditions of unity and solidarity, Ekinci said, “Having a voice and decision in future Middle East peace conferences is a matter of existence or non-existence. No one should leave the future of their people to the promises of powerful expansionist neighbors who seem friendly. Nobody should be fooled by this. Peace and democracy should be everyone's motto. Of course, everyone will make their own decisions. But nobody has the right to set the Middle East on fire."
