NEWS CENTER -  Some photos are like that. They don't just stay there, they get off the shelves, adds itself to other photos.. This is how the history is written, our history, to be more precise..

Don't sweat it, I'll sum it up for you..

Actually, there is no need for a lot of trouble. In one sentence, this photo is the last 5 years in Turkey.

A token of honour for the employees of the Kurdish press..

It was taken during that time the solution was put in the 'refrigerator' for the Kurdish question. More precisely, its a capture from that video.

The trustee appointed to Ankara was shouting at the top of his voice about the 'Always heroic Turkish nation' just like the children waving there flags in April 23 at the time this photo was taken.

When this photo was taken, Enis Berberoğlu was the lead actor in the play called 'Turkish Armed Forces and law enforcement units are on duty' sitting by a portable state table on the hills of Şemdinli with a bunch of artificial flowers in his hand.

İsmet Berkan was jumping around, talking through his hat in an armoured panzer in the streets of Sur where even the stones were stolen.

Nazlı Çelik was blowing up Kurdish houses during live broadcasts in Yüksekova just to add a little edge to her TV show.

Veyis Ateş, who doesn't use his second name Abdurrahman, was translating Kurdish words who tells about the ISIS terror as YPG, with the professional ethics he learned from the Faculty of Theology.

Buket Aydın was declaring the Kurdish kitchen in a destroyed home a liberated area.

How many of these can you see on screens or in the press now?

There was a completely different picture at the flip side of the coin.

The lifeless body of Taybet Inan was on the street for 7 days in Silopi left to decay, the lifeless body of 10-year-old Cemile Çağırga in Cizre was being kept in the refrigerator, in Şırnak, the dead body of Hacı Lokman Birlik was being dragged behind the panzer face down...

We lost Rohat Aktaş, the Editor in Chief of Azadiya Welat Newspaper, in Cizre.

We were delighted that Nedim Türfent, who reported on the police showing "the power of the Turks", was alive when he was sent to prison.

Dozens of our colleagues, whose names I cannot mention one by one, are still held captive as asylum seekers in Greece.

This photo was taken when the Prime Minister of the time Ahmet Davutoğlu said "public security" was provided. Let me tell you the exact date: October 4, 2015 Silvan!

In this photo, we see Serhat Yüce who has the cold barrel of the gun at his neck and claws at his throat, a reporter for Dicle News Agency (DİHA) that was closed down with a law decree, and police officer M.U who screams his head off, threatening Serhat to pull the trigger, making everyone a witness of the power of the Turks, the hero, the able and the brave. Do not worry though, he is OK, nothing happened to this police officer. He was sentenced to 1 year and 8 months in prison but the announcement of the verdict was deferred so he will not serve any time in prison. We were not surprised at all. In the case of Nihat Kazanhan, who was murdered at the age of 12, weren't "regional conditions, stressful environment and personality rights of the accused police officers" considered as a reason for reduction? Didn't the conditions in the region automatically mean “provocation” anyway?

There's more. Police M.U's attorney who was dealing with another case of M.U asked Serhat's attorney if they want to withdraw from the case, telling that his client was a victim!

Yes, you did not get it wrong. That police officer threatening to pull the trigger with his claws at Serhat's throat, was the victim! Who was Serhat anyway??

Was the police M.U or his attorney looking for reconciliation? NO, no! He was not regretting it, apologizing, listening to his conscience or want to secure justice. He wants reconciliation because he was dismissed, he lost his weapon, power, status, position, authority, bravery, his Turkishness and ranks. He was declared a 'traitor'!

I don't know if it is possible to rub salt in the wound that is unlikely to heal any time in the future but the history wrote the power of the Turk and the resistance of the Kurd with bald, black fonts that day..

Now, 5 years later we must ask the police M.U, Was it worth it??

*
My colleagues Nazan Sala, Adnan Bilen, Cemil Uğur, Dindar Karataş and Şehriban Abi, who have witnessed this photo and now behind bars. Be sure that those who handcuffed you will one day be the 'victim' too; those who get above themselves today, who brags that nothing will ever happen to them , will turn into a big void the day they are left unclaimed and take their place next to others before them.

It's not me that says this, it's their favorite poet Mehmet Akif Ersoy, open your ears and listen;

"A man from the past had a feeling ... What a fairy tale!

Wasn't the 5 thousand yead old saying worth a dime?

They describe history as something that repeats itself;

Would it repeat itself if lessons were taken?"
