NEWS CENTER - TAJÊ manager Feride Şengalî stated that they will not back down from their struggle against the "Shengal Agreement" and called for a struggle against the dangers of silence.

Reactions to the "Shengal Agreement" signed on October 9, 2020 between the Iraqi Central Government and the Federal Kurdistan Administration continue. Shengalî who reacted to the deployement of tens of thousands of troops to Shengal by Iraq continue their sit in, in front of the Êzîdxan Public Security Center for 35 days. The sit in led by the youth is visited by different groups to support the sit in. While the Shengalî continue their diplomatic efforts, the demonstrations for the cancelation of the agreement continue.

LINE OF RESISTANCE AGAINST DANGER

Feride Shengalî, the director of the Êzidi Women's Freedom Movement (TAJÊ), evaluated the latest developments in Shengal for the Mesopotamia Agency (MA). Stating that a great danger erupted for Shengal after the agreement, Shengalî said that the Êzidîs who survived the 73 massacres were sought to be destroyed. Stating that the agreement between Hewlêr and Baghdad did not achieve its purpose, but the danger continues, Shengalî said, “A line of struggle and resistance has been built against this danger. With this resistance, the Êzidi community prevented foreign forces from entering Shengal. We all witnessed how the Iraqi government left Shengal in 2014. They even took off their military uniforms when they were leaving Shengal. We were delighted with the arrival of the peshmerga after the Iraqi forces. However, they left us alone after 3 months and sold us to ISIS barbarians. There were thousands of peshmerga, but not one of them protected us. While we were struggling against hardship, nobody was with us."

'THEY AIM TO DESTROY THE GAINS'

Underlining that the agreement does not aim to protect the Êzidi, and on the contrary, it was signed to protect the interests of both governments, Shengalî said: "The Êzidî community established the YBŞ, YJŞ and Êzîdxan Public Security Forces. They made the agreement so that they could destroy our gains. They don't want the will of the Êzidî embodying in Shengal and that's why they do their best to try to destroy it. But there is a strong resistance against this. It is maybe the first time in the history of the Shengalî to resist this determinedly."

TURKEY AND USA ARE BENEFITING FROM THE AGREEMENT

Stating that the parties to benefit from the agreement is not only Iraq and KDP, Shengalî said: "Turkey and USA are also benefiting from the agreement and that's why they deployed their troops here But they know it will not work. We are a people that didn't submit to the ISIS barbarians. We will not take a step back for this. We will never allow our forces to be removed from our lands. Therefore, we will not retreat until they accept the presence of our forces here."

Underlining that the Êzîdxan Public Security Forces are being surrounded, Shengalî said: "We want to be recognized as the Êzidî community. We will fight back as best as we can. We call on to the world to stand by us."
