HAKKARİ - Stating that the health of her son Abdulkadir Akdoğan who is in prison in İzmir is deteriorated, mother Hikmet Akdoğan said she only saw her son twice in the last four years and demanded he is released from prison with judicial control measure.

A HPG member Abdulkadir Akdoğan who was detained after a clash with the gendermerie in the Konyaaltı district of Antalya and was sentenced to 120 years in prison, is suffering from multiple diseases in İzmir Kırıklar No 1 Type F Closed Prison.

Akdoğan, who has difficulty in breathing due to his broken nose, has a serious goiter disease, and has difficulty walking due to platinum in his foot, also suffers from vision loss due to his previous hunger strike against the isolation of PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan.

Akdoğan's family living in the Yüksekova district of Hakkari, who were able to see him twice in the last for years because he is held in the other end of the country, wants their son to be sentenced to house arrest.

HOUSE ARREST REQUEST

Mother Hikmet Akdoğan said: "My son suffers from many dieases. He is suffering from anaemia and heart disease. This makes me so sad." Mother Akdoğan wanting her son to be sentenced to house arrest dueto his illnesses, also criticized that he was sent to a prison so far away. Explaining that she was able to see her son only twice in the last four years, Akdoğan said: "We have no financial means to go to İzmir frequently. I  live with my other son. He is 15. I want him to be transferred to a closer prison, or to be sentenced to house arrest, since there is a pandemic and he is so sick."

Calling the Ministry of Justice for her son's situation, mother Akdoğan said: "Release our children. Ensure peace and safety. Enough is enough. No mother should cry anymore. Our son's and daughters are lost in this war. We can't see our children in prisons, they are all taken so far away from home. All we want is a permanent peace."
