MARDİN – Critisizing the fact that Osman Ç who is on trial for the rape of a minor, Z.Ç was released from prison despite the DNA match, child's sister Pervin Şişman asked, "How is this justice?"

Uncle Osman Ç. jailed because he raped his niece Z.Ç who came from Switzerland as a guest on July 2020 was released from prison by Mardin 5th High Criminal Court, at his first hearing.

HIS DNA MATCHED

While it was stated that the location described by Z.Ç is in accordance with the Crime Scene Investigation report, it was also stated that the DNA sample taken from the crime scene matched with Z.ç's.

'NOT AT FLIGHT RISK'

Osman Ç who claimed to be the victim of this incident and that his family was devestated because of it was released by the court which decided Osman Ç. is not at flight risk.

ATTORNEYS WILL APPEAL

Stating that they will appeal the decision and request Osman Ç.'s arrest again, attorneys of Z.Ç said there is an ongoing legal process. Underlining that the evidence in the file is enough to get Osman Ç. arrested, the attorneys said they hope the higher court will correct this mistake.

THE CHILD ATTEMPTED SUICIDE

Speaking to Mesopotamia Agency (MA), Z.Ç's sister Pervin Şişman said the decision to release him was wrong and her sister already attempted suicide twice.

Underlining that Z.Ç recently attempted suicide for the third time, said her sister is at the hospital being treated.

Asking 'How is that justice?', Şişman said they are very dissappointed.

'ARE THEY WAITING FOR HER TO DIE?'

Şişman said: "Are they waiting for my sister to die? There are thousands of children and women like my sister. I lost my faith in justice with this decision. The children carry this trauma for years. Osman Ç. must be jailed pending trial and recieve the punishment he deserves."
