İSTANBUL - Stating that the resistance at Boğaziçi University is a part of an accumulated anger, the students said: "This is actually a beginning. The struggle will continue until the trustee resigns and the police blockade at school is removed."

Protests against the trustee rector Melih Bulu who is a member of the AKP continues unabated. While the academics protests the appointment by turning their backs on the rectorate building, students all over Turkey took to the streets protesting the 'trustee rector'. On the other hand, the government is targeting students and trying to supress the resistance.

THEY DON'T RECOGNIZE ANY CULTURE OTHER THEN THEIRS

Stating that the government is appointing trustees to all institutions they can not get into, Revolutionary Forces of the Youth (Dev-Güç) member Esra Can said: "The government is appointing trustees to all institutions they can not get into with elections, usurping the rights of some circles and ignoring their wills. The government wants to destroy any culture that is not theirs. Look at the Kurdish provinces. The government does not recognize their language, identity or culture. They are trying to control scientific work, audit the studies of student groups and rearrange the curriculum in line with their political ground which will lead to reform the universities in their political ground and liquidate scientific education. In this context, as the United Youth Councils, we started this construction process based on the necessity of declaring student councils. We foresee that creating a common mind and acting together, we will step up the resistance."

TRUSTEE PUTS A TARGET ON OUR BACKS

Revolutionary Students Union (DÖB) member Muhammed Hizmetçi whose house was raided by the police for supporting the protests said: "They are trying to dominate the education with fascism. There is a reason why the universities and students who rebels against the government and who do not submit to the government are targeted. They are trying to capture us under fascism. We are targeted by enhanced surveillence systems in our school.  In order for the academic demands and the demands of the students to be fulfilled, the trustee rector must resign."
