URFA - Stating that their sit in in front of the Urfa Courthouse is supported by millions, Ferit Şenyaşar said: "What brought us here is injustice."

Emine Şenyaşar and his son Ferit Şenyaşar who survived the attack of AKP MP İbrahim Halil's relatives and bodyguards 10 days before the General Elections held on 24 June 2018 in the Suruç district of Urfa, continues the sit in they started on its 20th day. The family who said they don't have the patience to wait for justice anymore, have been detained in the process a few times.

Emine Şenyaşar and his son Ferit Şenyaşar tells the people about what happened to them in front of the Courthouse and being visited by supporters from political parties, MPs, NGOs, Peace Mothers, Free Women's Movement (TJA) activists.

Surviving the attack, Ferit Şenyaşar evaluated the 20 days they have been staging the sit in.

'WE WERE HARASSED AND DETAINED'

Underlining that they have been seeking justice since the day of the slaughter, Şenyaşar said they left no stone unturned and finally decided to stage a sit in in front of the courthouse that is supposed to provide justice. Şenyaşar said: "We wanted to stage the sit in for 24 hours a day but my mother was over 65 and it would be hard so we decided to sit here between 08.00 and 17.00. We come here with the public officials at 08.00 and leave at 17.00 when the work hours is over."

Sharing that they have been harrassed from day one, Şenyaşar said: "We have been leaving the house in the morning for 20 days risking everything. We are starting our struggle for 'justice' by risking detention, arrest or even death. We were harassed by the police, detained but we did not take a step back."

'IT'S LEGAL TO SLAUGHTER PEOPLE BUT IT'S FORBIDDEN TO TELL ABOUT IT'

Reminding that his mother was detained by the police for 'insulting a public official' on March 15, Şenyaşar said:" My mother was detained for telling that her husband and sons were murdered by an AKP MP and she was detained. We come to a conclusion that you can murder people if you are an AKP MP but telling that they killed people is a crime. We will continue to commit this crime."

'WHO GAVE YOU INSTURCTIONS TO SIT HERE?'

Mother and son were detained by the police again on March 25 for allegedly opposing the law No 2911, opposing the law of demonstrations. Police asked the mother and son who gave them instructions to stage the sit in.

"IF JUSTICE WAS PROVIDED…"

Şenyaşar said: "We are not instructed by anyone. What brought us here is injustice. If justice was provided we wouldn't be here. My mother is over 65. She has heart problems. She is crying 24/7. Provide the justice and we will go home. Everyone knows who slaughtered our loved ones in Suruç Hospital."

'CHIEF PROSECUTOR IS NOT ACTING ON HIS OWN WILL'

Şenyaşar said: "We know that the chief prosecutor is under an immense political pressure. He is not acting on his own will. This is why we demand the justice which doesn't exist in the courthouse."

'AKP TOP MANAGEMENT PROTECTS ITS MP'

Stating that the AKP officials admitted they know their MP did this and they told that they will not allow him to be the Urfa MP next elections, Şenyaşars are angry that AKP MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız was included in the MKYK (Central Decision Administration Committee) at the 7th AKP Congress, despite the fact that he is involved in these murders. Şenyaşar said: "The people of Urfa knows what they did but the AKP top management is protecting their MP."

'CALL TO THE HEARING'

Şenyaşar, who called for the lawyers and bar association heads to participate as observers in the final hearing of the Malatya 3rd High Criminal Court on 2 April regarding the massacre said: “There is a hearing and a decision will be made. The prosecutor and the court board, who will decide on April 2, are under great pressure. It will be a black mark in the history of Turkey if the justice is not served."
