URFA - Mehmet Şenyaşar who lost his father and two brothers in the attack carried out by the relatives and bodyguards of AKP Urfa MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız, survived the attack barely by playing dead. Şenyaşar said: "We identified the attackers but they keep passing by our store freely."

 

3 years have passed since the attack against the Şenyaşar family. While visiting the shopkeepers during canvassing for the June 24 general elections , AKP's Yıldız and his relatives and bodyguards started firing at the Şenyaşar family who told that they won't vote for the AKP. Celal, Ferit, Mehmet, Fadıl and Adil Şenyaşar brothers were injured during the attack on their store. 8 people were injured from the Yıldız family. AKP MP Yıldız's brother died in Suruç State Hospital. 

 

Yıldız's relatives and bodyguards targeted the Şenyaşar brothers, who were then treated at the hospital. As a result of the attacks in front of the hospital staff, brothers Celal Şenyaşar and Adil Şenyaşar lost their lives. Mother Emine Şenyaşar and father Hacı Esvet Şenyaşar rushed to the hospital hearing that their sons are shot. Relatives of Yıldız killed father Şenyaşar while mother Şenyaşar was watching. One of the brothers, Mehmet Şenyaşar barely survived by playing dead at the hospital. The attack carried out at the hospital, the lynching and killing while Urfa Governor Abdullah Erin, Suruç District Governor Tarık Açıkgöz and then Minister of Agriculture and Livestock, Ahmet Eşref Fakıbaba was at the Hospital yard at the time, reflected to the authopsy reports. 

 

Recalling that he was not there at the time of the attack against their store, Mehmet Şenyaşar said: "We hadn't have a fight between us, not even once before the day of the attack. I rushed to the store when I heard about the attack. I tried to go in but it was very crowded and they didn't let me in. They beat me outside. I was only able to go in when the attack against my brothers was over and I saw that they were still alive when I walked in. The ambulance arrived late. They were preventing the ambulances from approaching us. Even the cab did not take us because they were afraid of the Yıldız family. They attacked us again the minute we walked in the hospital. We were laying on gurneys. We identified them from the photos but they keep passing by out store freely. Police did not help us at the hsopital. Healtcare workers risked their lives to help us. I played dead. That's how I survived. They meant to kill us all. They damaged the ambulance as well. I started to pray at the ambulance, thinking they will get to us and kill us. We were transferred to Antep while the ambulance was under attack. "

 

Underlining that the 'justice' stands with the strong despite the passing 3 years, Şenyaşar said he did not have any more expectations from the justice system. Şenyaşar said: "They arrested my brother at the hospital. No one from the Yıldız family was arrested because they are protected by the government. We identified our attackers but the prosecutor told us to go home and justice will come in time. It has been three years. There is no sign of justice yet."
