ANKARA - 4 people were injured in the armed attack on the Kurdish family as a result of the fight broke out in the altar where the family was sacrificing an animal for the Eid al-Adha. 2 of the injured are in serious condition. The family who was later subjected to police violence in front of the hospital was prevented from entering the village. 

 

A fight broke out between two families in the altar in the Altındağ district of Ankara. 4 people from Boztaş family who came from Mardin were injured in the attack carried out by the family who came from Kırıkkale. Ferit and Feyyaz Boztaş who was seriously injured as a result of the attack were taken into surgery in Ankara Hospital. Tuncer and Halis Boztaş, the other injured family members were taken to Dışkapı Yıldırım Beyazıt Training and Research Hospital. It was also stated that other citizens who came to purchase animals were injured in the attack as well. 

 

ATTACKERS WERE PROTECTED

 

Speaking to our agency about the incident, Ferhat Boztaş, a family member, said that a fight broke out with the family from Kırıkkale after he disposed 'animal feces' in an area between the farm houses of them and the other family.  Stating that the family from Kırıkkale insulted and attacked them, Boztaş said: "At least 150 people attacked us. 4 of them fired their guns against us. 4 of my brothers were injured. They were full of hatred. It wouldn't be enough for them to kill all Kurds."

 

Boztaş said that although 4 members of his family were injured, the aggressor family was taken under protection.

 

RELATIVES OF THE WOUNDED WERE ATTACKED

 

Stating that the police told them to disperse while they were waiting in front of the hospital for their relatives, Boztaş said they were attacked again in front of the hospital, this time by the law enforcement.  Boztaş said: "My brother was sitting in a bench in front of the hospital. They first tried to remove my brother from the grounds and attacked when he didn't move. We were involved in the fight in order to protect my brother. Police attacked us with tear gas and batons. I still have bruises on my body. Then a number of people from my family, including my brother were detained by the police."

 

THE FAMILY WAS PREVENTED FROM ENTERING THE VILLAGE

 

One of the eyewitnesses, Aydın Yıldız, said that after the incident, the relatives of the Kurdish family were blocked at the entrance of the village by the gendarmerie and they were not allowed to enter the village.
