ADANA - Stating that the way to peace passes through İmralı, DBP member Şilan Turğa said, "If there is a search for a democratic solution, this solution can be achieved by opening the gates of İmralı."

 

PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan, who is held in Imralı Prison under severe isolation conditions, is not allowed to be visited by his family and lawyers. Applications made by Öcalan's family and lawyers to the Bursa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and the İmralı Penitentiary Institution every week are left unanswered. Evaluating the results of the isolation policy, Democratic Regions Party (DBP) Çukurova Regional Co-spokespersons Şilan Turğa and Enver Güler emphasized that the way to peace passes through İmralı."

 

'ÖCALAN PROVIDES SOLUTIONS TO ALL CRISIS'

 

DBP Çukurova Regional Co-Spokesperson Enver Güler said that isolation imposed on the prisoners aims to seperate them from the society, to isolate them and force them to live in a narrow environment. Güler noted that the state imposed isolation on the entire society in the person of Öcalan in order to destroy the Kurdish people as a whole. "Isolation is a regime," said Güler, adding, "Mr. Öcalan's reality affects all peoples. He offers solutions to the current crises. In this respect, it is necessary to understand that the isolation imposed on Mr. Öcalan aims to prevent a common life, aims to prevent a solution to the Kurdish question and also a denial of peace."  Emphasizing that the isolation on Öcalan must be broken with the strength of the peoples, Güler said that the way to peace passes through İmralı.

 

IMRALI GATES MUST BE OPENED

 

Expressing that Öcalan is the reality of the peoples, DBP Çukurova Regional Co-Spokesperson Şilan Turğa expressed that Öcalan and the entire society are under isolation. Turga said, "We, as the DBP, will keep the need for the removal of the isolation on the agenda with all the work we do. We will work on this issue until we get results. As February 15 International Conspiracy Day approaches, we would like to state that we condemn this dark day. We would also like to reiterate the need to get news from Mr. Öcalan whom no one has ever heard of in 9 months. We would like to underline once again that if the government seeks a democratic solution to the Kurdish problem, this solution can be achieved by opening the gates of Imrali."
