HAKKARI - Condemning the KDP's support for Turkey, Former Peshmerge Süleyman Demir said, "If the betrayers do not come back from their mistake, everyone should stand by whoever is fighting for the benefit of the people."

 

Turkey's attack on the Zap, Avaşîn and Metîna regions of the Federated Kurdistan Region on April 17, in partnership with the KDP, continues with fierce clashes. While the KDP jeopardizes the gains of the Kurdish people with its role in the attack, the condemnations against the betrayel of the KDP are growing. Süleyman Demir, who lives in Hakkari and served as a peshmerga for 26 years, said that the KDP damaged the gains of the Kurds. 

 

'WE CAN'T SEE BARZANI AS A LEADER'

 

Reminding that all Kurds living in 4 parts of Kurdistan are happy for the Federal Kurdistan Region to gain its status, Demir said, “At least we used to say 'we have a land where we can live even if we are exiled'. But unfortunately, they did not even gave us that opportunity. Massoud Barzani was also one of the Kurdish leaders, but he lost his leadership qualifications by turning a blind eye on the attacks. Barzani tolerates the occupation of the Kurdish people's lands and becomes an accomplice in the attacks. We can't see someone who does this as our leader." 

 

THERE WILL NO BE PROGRESS BY SPILLING OF BLOOD

 

Stating that Barzani should abandon betraying his people immediately, Demir said, "We want the Barzani family to abandon this dirty war policy. As blood continues to spill, we will go back another 50 years. If he thinks that by waging this war, he will displace people from their land, he is wrong. Turkey will attack the Barzani family the minute the people leave their land."

 

'PEOPLE SHOULD STAND BY THOSE WHO FIGHT FOR THE PEOPLE'

 

Demir said: "If those who fight withdrew from Bashur, invaders will invade the lands of the Kurdish people. Kurdish people must stand up against whoever betrays their people. Whoever is committing treason should not be supported by the public. Everyone should choose the right side for the interests of the Kurdish people, and everyone should standy by those who fight  for the benefit of this people."

 

'KURDS WILL WIN'

 

Stating that those who started the war will be the losing side, Demir said, “The losers will be the Barzani family and those who invaded our lands as long as they continue their betrayal. The real losers of this war will be AKP and KDP. Every Kurd has paid great prices so far. We have established a foundation, this foundation should not collapse."
