Turkish soldiers battered villagers and attorneys after raid on a village

HAKKARİ - It was stated that the soldiers who raided a village in Yüksekova battered at least 20 people including women and children and took them to the military operation zone. While 13 of them were detained, what happened to the rest of the villagers remain unknown.
 
The operation launched in the villages surrounding teh Yüksekova district of Hakkari continues. It was learned that 2 ambulances were sent to the area in which intense clashes continues. Soldiers raiding the surrounding villages with armoured vehicles, battered dozens of people including children between the age of 11 and 14. It was stated that the soldiers took 20 people including an 8-year-old child and a senior citizen to the operation zone.
 
CELL PHONE OF THE VILLAGERS WERE CONFISCATED 
 
According to the information obtained by the villagers, the cell phones of the people taken to the operation zone were confiscated and the shepherds grazing their animals within the operation zone were detained and threatened.
 
LAWYERS OF THE VILLAGERS WERE BATTERED
 
ÖHD Hakkari Branch Co-Chairs, Great Günay Karataş and Fırat İke, were prevented from seeing their clients at the District Gendarmerie Command. Soldiers battered the attorneys and dragged them out of the gendermerie command.
 
It was learned that those detained were taken to Kısıklı Gendermerie Command. It was also learned that the 13 people that were detained will be taken to Yüksekova District Gendermerie Command.
 
CALL FOR AWARENESS
 
Zozan Turgut and Nevin Turgut, who were taken to the operation area, and two women whose names could not be learned were released. Information about where the other citizens were taken could not be obtained. Citizens in Şişemzîn village to which the entries are restricted, told that they are concerned for the lives of those who are detained and called for awareness.
 
 
With the shepherds being taken into custody, it was reported that the small cattle in the region were left unattended and most of them went missing.
