During its visit to Turkey on September 20-29, the Committee for the Prevention of Torture (CPT) of the Council of Europe stated that it spoke with PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan and other prisoners Ömer Hayri Konar, Veysi Aktaş and Hamili Yıldırım, who have not been heard from in İmralı Type F High Security Prison for 20 months. In the CPT statement, it was stated that the treatment and detention conditions of Abdullah Öcalan, Konar, Aktaş and Yıldırım in İmralı Prison were examined, and special attention was paid to social activities and their relations with the outside world.

CPT 2nd Vice President Therese Rytter, who claimed that she met with 3 prisoners together with Abdullah Öcalan in İmralı, reached by the Mezopotamya Agency, avoided giving information about their meeting.

The interruption of Abdullah Öcalan's phone call with his brother Mehmet Öcalan on March 25, 2021 and his failure to visit the CPT were considered as a protest against the lawyer's visit barrier.

CPT'S RESPONSIBILITY
Abdullah Öcalan stated that İmralı is a CPT project, that the Council of Europe was aware of the conditions in İmralı, and that a CPT official met him in İmralı, where he was brought on February 15, 1999 with an international conspiracy, and pointed out that the CPT was also responsible for the Imralı isolation system.
Abdullah Öcalan, in his meetings with his family and lawyers in Imrali, frequently referred to the role and responsibility of international powers together with the CPT, emphasizing the importance of a lawyer's visit.
‘I WANT TO MEET MY LAWYERS’
In the "interrupted" phone call Abdullah Öcalan had with his brother Mehmet Öcalan on March 25, 2021, the lawyer condemned the situation. During the meeting, which lasted 4 and a half minutes, the leader of the PKK said: “Both you and the state are doing wrong for what has been done. The reason is this; No contact whatsoever for a year. These actions are not included in state law or any other law. Your coming is wrong and very dangerous. The state is too dangerous. This is not correct. If there is to be a meeting, it must be within the legal framework. After a year, it is not possible to have a phone call at their own request. This is wrong of you. The state is playing it wrong, and so are you. This is not legal, nor is it right. This is never acceptable. This is also very dangerous. Are you aware of what you are doing? I want my lawyers to come here and meet with me. This is a legal thing. I've been here for 22 years. How will this problem be in the future? This problem can only be solved by law. Why don't they come here? If there is going to be a meeting, it should be with lawyers. This is both political and legal."
