ANKARA - HDP Spokesperson Ebru Günay stated that the isolation has become the political identity of the AKP government and called on the Ministry of Justice to respond to their applications to go to Imrali Island.

Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Spokesperson Ebru Günay held a press conference at the party's headquarters. Informing about the Women's Council, Party Council and Central Executive Committee meetings, Günay's agenda included the isolation of Imrali, attacks against Northern and Eastern Syria, and election discussions.

Regarding the meetings held by his party, Günay said: “As you know, we held our Party Council meeting for two days to evaluate the current developments. First we held our Women's Council, then our PM meeting, and today we are holding our Central Executive Board meeting. Our party organs have comprehensively evaluated many issues, especially the attacks on North East Syria, the isolation issue and the upcoming elections. Plans for the new period were made, and there were tasks that we set before us. VQA continues its meeting on this issue."

'CPT INFORMATION MUST SHARE WITH THE PUBLIC'

Stating that this situation deepened the anxieties and anxieties created by the lawlessness caused by the absolute isolation in Imrali, Günay said: "We call on the CPT once again and share the details of their last visit with the public and invite them not to be a party to the torture and isolation crimes of the government. The absolute isolation policies towards Mr. Öcalan are a clear indication of the government's insistence on a deadlock. Thus, the government continues to insist on the politics of war by taking advantage of the isolation policies and the crisis environment in the field of law, justice, human rights and the economy."

'ISOLATION TURNED INTO THE POLITICAL IDENTITY OF THE GOVERNMENT'

Stating that the isolation has turned into the political identity and way of governing of the AKP government, Günay said: "Every objection to isolation policies is an objection to the one-man regime, the policies of war. For this reason, we reiterate that the address of democratic politics and the solution is Mr. Öcalan, and we invite all democratic public opinion to appeal for an end to the unlawfulness and isolation on Imrali Island. Yesterday, DBP Co-Chair Saliha Aydeniz, 3 of our MPs, and Selahattin Demirtaş, one of our previous term co-chairs, applied to the Ministry of Justice to meet with Mr. Öcalan. Our call to the Ministry of Justice; to respond promptly to these applications. It should be ensured that family and lawyer meetings, which are guaranteed by the legal system, take place as soon as possible."
