ANKARA - It was stated that the Democratic People's Party (DHP) was one of the most recommended names for the Green Left Party in public meetings, workshops and conferences.

 

Preparations for the grand congress of the Greens and Left Future Party (Green Left Party), planned to be held in mid-October, are continuing. After the two-day Women's Conference, the new charter and program of the party will be clarified after the Grand Conference, which started yesterday and continues today. The name change of the Green Left Party was also among the agenda of the conference. The name change, which was brought to the agenda with public meetings held in many cities starting on July 10 and subsequent workshops, is expected to become clear at the conference that will end today.

 

RECOMMENDED NAMES: DHP, HEDEP, HEP…

 

In the conference held closed to the press, in addition to many topics, new names of the party proposed in the series of meetings were also brought to the agenda. About 20 names were suggested at the meetings. The proposals are mostly those that include the phrase "democracy" in the party names. It is stated that the Democratic Peoples Party (DHP) comes first among the names with the most suggestions. Among the proposed names, there are also names such as People's Equality and Democracy Party (HEDEP), People's Equality Party (HEP), Free Society Party (ÖTP), Free Life Party (ÖYP), New Life Party (YYP).

 

POLITICAL LINE WILL BE DETERMINED

 

In addition to the name change at the conference, many draft resolutions will be prepared to be presented to the congress to be held in October. In the conferences, the political line of the new era will also be determined in the light of the suggestions made in the meeting series.
