DÊRSIM - Stating that Abdullah Öcalan should be the interlocutor for the solution of the Kurdish issue, Writer Nesimi Aday, one of the signatories of the "Call for Peace", said: "We should not be afraid to ask for peace. We need organized courage." .

Writer Nesimi Aday, one of the signatories of the "Call for Peace", noted that the deadlock of the Kurdish issue is at the root of many crises in Turkey, and stated that Abdullah Öcalan should be discussed for a solution, and said: "We need organized courage for peace."

There has been no news from PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan and other prisoners in the prison, Ömer Hayri Konar, Veysi Aktaş and Hamili Yıldırım, who are held in İmralı Type F High Security Closed Prison, for 32 months. 78 intellectuals, writers, artists, politicians and journalists who want a democratic solution to the Kurdish problem and an end to the Imrali isolation published the "Call to Peace" declaration in Istanbul on October 28.

Writer Nesimi Aday, one of the signatories, spoke about the developments and the importance of the declaration.

'THERE IS NO WAY OTHER THAN PEACE'

Stating that there is a need for peace on a global scale, Aday said: “There is a need for peace from an ecological perspective because we are slowly killing the world. A person who kills himself also kills the world. A person needs to make peace with the world without extending it over time. The two sides of the Middle East have not come together since Cain killed his brother Abel. Almost all positive and negative events of history occur in this geography. Even the Prophet could not provide peace; however, a peace treaty, the Treaty of Kadesh, was made in this region. In other words, the lands that produce the possibilities of war also create the possibilities of peace. We have no other choice but to establish peace in Turkey. Building peace is a necessity. Peace; It is vital for both Kurdistan and Palestine. Our call, which includes a demand for peace and objects to the isolation of Kurdish Leader Öcalan, should be seen as a modest opportunity for peace in Mesopotamia and the Middle East. But the world is so noisy, our voice calling for peace is not heard."

'THE REASON FOR THE CRISIS IS THE KURDISH ISSUE'

Pointing out that the Kurdish issue is a multi-layered problem, Aday said: “The Kurdish issue is at the root of many problems in Turkey. The first century of the Republic was sad for many entities, especially Kurds and Alevis. Now the second century begins with this sad intro. This is also objected to in our text. The one nation, one language, one religion paradigm built on these ancient lands, which are a combination of multiple ethnicities, beliefs and cultures, has created mortal anomalies. The most important of these anomalies is the Kurds' rights and law issue. We must think solution-oriented and produce solutions for political, economic and social welfare; otherwise, the war economy will continue to provide public disinformation, and crisis dynamics will remain in our lives."

'ABDULLAH ÖCALAN'S VOICE MUST BE HEARD'

In his last meeting with his lawyers on August 7, 2019, Abdullah Öcalan said: "I say I will eliminate the situation and possibility of conflict in a week. I can solve it, I am confident in myself, I am ready for the solution; however, both the state and the state's mind must do what is necessary". Recalling his words, Aday said: "It seems that they are afraid of even speaking and being heard; otherwise, the ties of political life with İmralı Island would not have been severed. We can also read this situation as they do not want peace."

Stating that "the political fight between Turks and Kurds will stop" if the isolation imposed on Abdullah Öcalan ends and his voice is heard, Aday said: "Abdullah Öcalan can make symbiotic contributions to the political crisis in the Middle East, especially Syria and Iraq, within the framework of the democratic nation paradigm. It can activate the dynamics of social peace, as we saw and experienced in the 'Solution Process'."

'PEACE SHOULD NOT BE FEARED'

Emphasizing that it is essential for Turkey to make peace with the Kurds, Aday said: "The demand of more than 25 million Kurds for political rights, which comes from being a nation, cannot be stopped with death, deportation, threats and isolation. The state said about Dersim, 'There will be a campaign, there will be no victory.' If the Dersim genocide is not considered a victory, then no victory has been achieved because the conflict continues, although at low intensity. As stated in the state's sources, '29. The rebellion continues. We defend peace, not war, and common life on a democratic basis. The composition of the signatures we have signed should be read in this manner. Unless peace is achieved, perhaps another century will be wasted. In this context, all democratic forces and individuals in Turkey have a great responsibility. We should not be afraid to ask for peace. We expect them to be the humble voice of peace in the face of the roar of war. This is the moral and conscientious responsibility of everyone who says they are an intellectual, an artist, or a writer. We are now on the verge of saying something new. We are in the process of creating new sentences. We have seen too much death, we have shed too many tears. We need organized courage for peace.”
