KARS - Speaking at the "Great Freedom March", DEM Party Deputy Omer Ocalan said: "The only interlocutor for the solution of the Kurdish issue is Mr. Ocalan. Our struggle will continue until freedom is achieved."
The "Great Freedom March", which was initiated to ensure the physical freedom of PKK Leader Abdullah Ocalan and the democratic solution to the Kurdish issue, continues on its second day. The marchers, including the Kars (Qers) branch and Democratic Regions Party (DBP) Co-Chair Çiğdem Kılıçgün Uçar, left the city in the morning and went to Bazarcix (Dağpınar) town of Dîgor district.
Greeting the citizens here, DBP Co-Chair Çiğdem Kılıçgün Uçar pointed out the insolubility of the Kurdish issue and said: "We know that this state policy, which has been maintained for a century, has not get results. The state knows this. With this freedom march, we show that a democratic solution to the Kurdish issue is possible and that the addressee is Mr. Ocalan.”
Welcoming the marchers, 80-year-old Zarif Anlı said: "We will always keep this struggle alive and we will not leave it alone." In the statement, the slogans "Bijî berxwedana zindanan (Long live resistance of the dungeons)" and "Bijî berxwedana Îmraliyê (Long live resistance of the Imralı)” chanted.
'LET ISOLATION BE ENDED, LET THE KURDISH ISSUE BE SOLVED'
The marchers then moved to Dîgor district. DEM Party Deputy Omer Ocalan commemorated those who lost their lives in the Dîgor Massacre. Drawing attention to the Imralı isolation, Ocalan said: "All of Mr. Ocalan's rights have been trampled on. That is why we are here and our aim is to end the isolation and solve the Kurdish issue. The only interlocutor for the solution of the Kurdish issue is Mr. Ocalan. Our struggle will continue until freedom is achieved. Where we stand is legitimate. You are the one who is illegitimate, does not recognize the law, and is the one who oppresses. Obey your laws and get out of our way. Everyone sees your cruelty. People of Dîgor also know about the meeting held by Mr. Ocalan here. Dîgor had the most difficult days, but it did not bow its head.”
Ocalan continued as follows: "We want no one to die anymore and an honorable peace to be achieved. Only Mr. Ocalan can provide this peace. Our people know everything. We will continue to march for our people and our Leader. Open the gates of Imralı now."
