TEKIRDAG - Kasım Karataş, who was released from prison after 33 years, said: "Our only wish is for Mr. Abdullah Ocalan to regain his physical freedom."
Prisoner Kasım Karataş, who was arrested in Izmir in 1991 and sentenced to life imprisonment for "disrupting the unity and integrity of the state" at the State Security Court (DGM), was released after 33 years of captivity. Karataş was released from Tekirdağ Type F Closed Prison. Members of his family, People’s Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) and the Marmara Assistance and Solidarity Association with Detainee and Convict Families (MATUHAYDER) welcomed Karataş.
'OUR WISH IS FOR OCALAN TO REGAIN HIS PHYSICAL FREEDOM'
Making a short statement in front of the prison, Karataş pointed out the isolation imposed on PKK Leader Abdullah Ocalan and said: “Our children and we cannot be free until the isolation is abolished. Our friends are on our minds. Our only wish is for Mr. Abdullah Ocalan to regain his physical freedom as soon as possible and for our friends to end their hunger strike.”
