HAKKARI - "The Great Freedom March" continues despite the cold weather and snowfall. The marchers were welcomed with enthusiasm in the villages and sent off to Elkê district with applause and shouts.

 

The "Great Freedom March" launched for the physical freedom of PKK Leader Abdullah Ocalan and the democratic solution to the Kurdish issue continues its fourth day. The group, including Democratic Regions Party (DBP) Co-Chair Keskin Bayındır, Med Detainee and Convict Families and Federation of Legal and Solidarity Associations (MED TUHAD-FED) Co-chair Emine Kaya, and People's Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) deputies, set out from Hakkari (Colemêrg) center today

 

ENTHUSIASTIC WELCOME IN AŞÛT 

 

The marchers were sent off with applause and shouts from the DEM Party Hakkari Provincial Organization. The marchers were welcomed by citizens in Aşut (Çıglı) village of Çelê (Cukurca) district. Despite the snowfall, there was intense interest to marchers. During the welcome, slogans such as "Bijî berxwedana zindanan (Long live resistance of dungeons)", "Bijî Serok Apo(long live Leader Apo)", "Jin, Jîyan, Azadî (Woman, life, freedom)" were frequently chanted.
