ISTANBUL - The detention period of journalist Sadık Topaloğlu, whose case file was subject to a confidentiality order, has been extended by one day.
The detention period of journalist Sadık Topaloğlu, who was detained in Istanbul yesterday evening along with his friend Mehmet Savaş, has been extended by one day. Topaloğlu is being held at the Istanbul Security Directorate in Fatih and a confidentiality order has been issued on his case file.
Topaloğlu's lawyer stated that his client was asked questions at the police station about a case in which he was previously on trial. Topaloğlu's lawyer said that there was no investigation against Topaloğlu and Savaş and that a detention order was issued by the prosecutor's office on duty upon the instruction of Istanbul Anti-terror (TEM).
