IZMIR - DBP Co-Chair Keskin Bayındır stated that they should turn their attention to İmralı against the hostile policies of AKP-MHP and said: “Rêber Abdullah Öcalan's ideas, thoughts and views are the only solution for all oppressed peoples and the Middle East.”
Democratic Regions Party (DBP) Co-Chair Keskin Bayındır came together with party and institution representatives in Izmir as part of the organizing activities of his party. The meeting was attended by Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) General Organization Co-Chair Vezir Parlak, MED Prisoners and Convicts Families Legal and Solidarity Associations Federation (MED TUHAD FED) Co-Chair Kerem Canpolat, DBP and DEM Party executives and members.
Speaking at the meeting which started with a moment of silence, Bayındır stated that the Aegean Region and Izmir is an important city in terms of struggle. Emphasizing that Turkey and the four parts of Kurdistan are going through an important process, Bayındır said: “The Turkish state has put forward a new project. With the continuation of the Eastern Reform Plan, they are trying to prevent Kurds from having language and land. Two days ago, 2 women were massacred in Sulaymaniyah as a result of Turkey's drone attack. We condemn these attacks. We bow with respect in front of all Kurdistan martyrs in the person of our women friends. In 2014, Turkey declared war on the Kurdish freedom struggle and Kurdistan. For this reason, the fascist genocidal power continued its hostility to the Kurdish struggle.”
'THE STRUGGLE HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR 50 YEARS'
Stating that despite all the oppression, the struggle is growing and continues not only in Kurdistan but all over the world, Bayındır said: “Women, youth, mothers continue their struggle in every field, and a history of heroism is being written. The struggle against all hegemonic, fascist, genocidal states and powers, not only Turkey, has been going on for 50 years. This struggle spread all over the world and became a remedy for all oppressed peoples. From Africa to America to Europe, all the peoples in the Middle East who want freedom and peace first look at the Kurdish freedom struggle and the struggle being waged in Kurdistan. The fate of this struggle is in the hands of the Kurdish people, the practice we put forward is important in terms of raising the struggle. As Kurdish people, we will continue our struggle for freedom and democracy in Izmir, Turkey and everywhere. No force, war and enmity can stop the Kurds from this struggle even for a moment.”
CALL FOR STRUGGLE AGAINST ISOLATION
Drawing attention to the isolation imposed on PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan, Bayındır said that isolation is the most important tool in the war waged by the AKP-MHP government. Stating that they must fight against the isolation with all their strength, “Today there is a social, political and economic crisis in Turkey and Kurdistan. We are all experiencing all the effects of this crisis. The biggest obstacle to the solution of these crises is the isolation policy. As those who are experiencing this crisis, we must say 'no' to the policies of war and hostility. First of all, we must speak out against the isolation policy and turn our attention to Imrali, to Rêber (Leader) Abdullah Öcalan. His ideas, thoughts and views are the only solution for all oppressed peoples in the Middle East. All Kurds must speak out against these policies for their leader, their liberation, their land, their language and their existence. If the isolation is broken, a democratic life will be possible for Turkey as well” Bayındır said.
'OUR FATE IS CONNECTED TO ÖCALAN'S FREEDOM'
Referring to the situation of the KDP, which cooperates with Turkey, Bayındır continued as follows: “They should know well that for hundreds of thousands of years the vein of betrayal has not yielded any results. Today, the KDP is trying to achieve success with the vein of betrayal. But Kurds from Bakur to Europe will carry out the struggle for a democratic society. Kurds are committed to Öcalan's ideas. Our fate is linked to Öcalan's freedom.”
After Bayındır's speech, the meeting continued closed to the press.
