Ground and time for solution has come, let's not miss opportunity says Keskin Bayındır

ANKARA - DBP Co-Chair Keskin Bayındır, recall Abdullah Öcalan's message on the solution of the Kurdish issue and said: "We believe that the time has come and the ground has been created. This historical opportunity should be utilised on the right basis."

Democratic Regions Party (DBP) Co-Chair Keskin Bayındır spoke within the scope of the Cenral Budget Law Proposal for the year 2025, which is being discussed in the General Assembly of the Parliament.

COMMON FUTURE

Pointing to Syria and the collapsed Baath regime, Bayındır said: "The Autonomous Administration model of North and East Syria stands before us today as the most realistic and correct solution method. While the whole world looks with envy at this model that has come to life in Rojava, you are the only one who calls it 'terrorism'. That is how loneyly Turkey's approach to this model will of course be decisive for the course of events in the Middle East. The Kurds in Rojava have no problem with Turkey, on the contrary, it has always been stated that recognising each other will strengthen both sides. Those who have a common past have a common future."

Stating that AKP-MHP is trying to strangle North and East Syria, "The government has openly targeted and continues to target electiricity, water, natural gas, and infrastructures from Aın Isa to Hasakah and from here to Kobanê. This is not politics, wspecially occupation and exploitation is not a solution in any way. Politics should get rid of the arrogance syndrome that suffocates it, abandon the denialist codes of the nation state and update its approach to the Kurdish issue."

'WHAT IS YOUR SOLUTION?'

Bayındır continued his words as follows: "

Is the solution of this century trustees, collapse plans, isolation regime, building its entire existence on the absence and denial of the Kurds? Is it the special war policies that aim to leave the whole society, especially women and youth, without identity, without a future and without struggle? What is your solution? People exist by what they do, not by what they say, so we need a will that does what it says, not one that cannot and does not do what it says.

WHAT DOES ABDULLAH ÖCALAN SAY?

A democratic and peaceful solution to the Kurdish problem is now inevitable. The solution of this problem is the historical duty of politics and us. As a matter of fact, the new world order now imposes a result-oriented solution to the Kurdish issue. Regarding this inevitable outcome, Mr Öcalan had previously made the following statements: 'Now is the day to end this cruel and destructive history and transition to peace, brotherhood and democracy in line with our true past.' In this sense, we clearly state that the time and the ground has come and that this historical opportunity should be utilised on the right basis.

LEGAL STEPS MUST BE TAKEN

The expectation of the society is that concrete steps must be taken for an honourable peace. At this very point, the duty of this Parliament, that is, of us, is to show a decisive will by taking not only concrete but also legal steps for the solution of this issue. The first step to be taken in this context would be to open the door to Mr Öcalan's solution proposals. He has so far made important opinions and proposals for a democratic and peaceful solution to the Kurdish issue, and this is also a historical opportunity. Embracing his will will accelerate the progress towards a solution, and the way to embrace this will is, of course, through political courage. Every step to be taken bravely for a solution will benefit all of us and Turkey.

CANNOT BE SOLVED WITH ATTACKS

The discussions since 1 October are important for us, but if we cannot establish the starting point of the story of these discussions from the right place, it will not be possible to meet on common ground. Until now, we have always stated that the spirit and consciousness of democratic solution in the context of the Kurdish issue must be integrated with the democratic republic. In this respect, we find every step, every discourse and initiative based on the solution of the Kurdish issue important, and we open-heartedly express that we will make great efforts for its socialisation and realisation."
