NEWS CENTER - Speaking about the campaign launched in Shengal in solidarity with North and East Syria, "They gave their lives for us. Therefore, Yazidis will also do their best for Rojava," says Shengal Autonomous Assembly Member Nafya Mêşo.

Turkey and the SNA, which is under the control of Turkey, continue to attack the regions under the sovereignty of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria.  In the attacks carried out between 2-9 December, 41 people, including children and women, were killed. Nearly 200 thousand people were displaced and forced to migrate due to the attacks. The Shengal Autonomous Administration launched a campaign on 5 December in solidarity with the people of North and East Syria. As the campaign continues, Yazidis are going door-to-door to collect aid.

Stating that Yazidis showed great interest in the campaign, Şengal Autonomous Assembly Member Nafya Mêşo made evaluations.

'THEY ATTACK WHEREVER THERE IS RESISTANCE'

Nafya Mêşo reminded that the citizens who were forced to migrate from Afrîn are experiencing difficult and troubled days and called for unity against the "genocide" attacks. Nafya Mêşo said: "There was a big war in Afrin. When ISIS attacked Shengal, I was among those who stayed there. The people of Afrin have fought a very tough struggle until today. They attack wherever our people resist. They attacked Shengal under the name of ISIS and Afrin under a different name. Our people there migrated and came to Shahba. They do not want our people to be united and strong. However, our people also respond to these attacks. They are carrying out inhuman attacks against our people everywhere."

'THEY GAVE THEIR LIVES FOR US'

Reminding that the people of Rojava did everything to help Shengal when ISIS attacked Shengal, "For this reason, Yazidis should also show solidarity with Rojavans. Afrin residents also migrated from Shahba due to the recent attacks and settled in Tebqa region. As Yazidis, we are always on their side. At that time, we entered into solidarity with our people and started a mobilisation campaign. If they allow us to cross the border, we will go there and heal their wounds. Now we are collecting clothes for women, children and the elderly within the scope of the campaign we have started. Our people show great interest in this campaign and they accept and participate as a debt. We are carrying out the campaign with this awareness. No matter what we do today, we cannot repay their debt. If we can afford it, we will leave our homes and spare them. There is nothing sweeter than human life, but they gave their lives for us. Whatever we do for them is not enough," Nafya Mêşo said.

'YAZIDIS SHOULD PROTECT ROJAVA'

Noting that protecting Rojava is one of the main duties of Yazidis, Nafya Meşo continued as follows: "When ISIS attacked Shengal and our mothers and sisters were captured by those savages, our Rojava people came to our rescue. They put their lives on the line for us. I am one of the witnesses of the edict. They gave us everything we needed. They even gave us the clothes they were wearing. They gave their children's clothes to our children. Today, Yazidis mobilised with this consciousness. We are no different from Rojava. Now they are resisting in this cold. Everyone should stand up and help Rojava."
