RIHA - Speaking at the Kobanê vigil, DEM Party Riha MP Dilan Kunt Ayan called on everyone from the government to the opposititon to unite around the perspective put forward by Abdullah Öcalan.
The vigil started in Pirsûs (Suruç) district of Riha (Urfa), which is on the border of Kobanê, against the attacks on North and East Syria continues on its 9th day. The vigil started under the leadership of Democratic Regions Party (DBP), Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) and Free Women's Movement (Tevgera Jinên Azad-TJA) was attended by DEM Party Riha MPs Ferit Şenyaşar, Dilan Kunt Ayan, members of the Peace Mothers' Assembly and members of the Association of Assistance, Solidarity and Culture with Families Who Lost Their Relatives in Ancient Lands (KATDER) as well as many people.
During the vigil, banners reading "Rojava xeta me ye sore (Rojava is our red line)", "Nazım, Cihan rumeta me ye (Nazım, Cihan are our honour)", "We will win by resisting", "The state kills women", "We won together, we will defend together" were unfurled in reaction to the attacks on the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria.
Speaking at the statement, DEM Party Riha MP Dilan Kunt Ayan stated that with the struggle of the Kurdish people, a coexistence was created within the Autonomous Administration, Ayan said that they would not accept the targeting of the new life created by Turkey-backed paramilitary groups.
Stressed that peace is a guarantee for the peoples and a guarantee for the future, Dilan Kunt Ayan reminded the call made by PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan in the las meeting.
"The peoples' hope for peace is Mr Öcalan. Mr Öcalan is openly repeating what he said years ago" said Dilan Kunt Ayan and added: "At the point where the war between Israel and Palestine has reached, he says that a solution to the gangrenous problem in the Middle East is now inevitable. That is why we are making a call from here. No one should say 'what can I do for this? Suffice it to increase the belief in peace. This is our call to all the opposition, to all women and young people. The day is the day to unite around this message. With this perspective put forward by Mr Öcalan, we call on everyone in Turkey, from the government to the opposition, to unite around this message."
After the statement, the mass visited shopkeepers and distributed leaflets inviting to the march to be held on 3 January against the attacks against North and East Syria.
