RIHA - Emine Şenyaşar, who participated in the vigil at the Kobanê border says, "I struggled for 7 years and could not stop sayin 'justice'. I will continue to say 'justice' for Kobanê".
The vigil at the Kobanê border in Pirsûs (Suruç) district of Riha (Urfa) against the attacks of Turkey and the Syrian National Army (SNA) against North and East Syria continued on its 14th day. Democratic Regions Party (DBP), Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) and Free Women's Movement (Tevgera Jinên Azad-TJA) led the vigil, DEM Party Riha MP Ferit Şenyaşar, Emine Şenyaşar, who is the symbol of the struggle for justice, Amed (Diyarbakır) Labour and Democracy Platform members, members of Riha Peace Mothers Assembly and many people participated.
Citizens gathered in the area in the morning hours and started a vigil around the fire they lit without paying attention to the cold weather. "Rojava rûmeta me yê (Rojava is our honour)" banner was hung in the area where the vigil continued. The citizens, who continued the vigil accompanied by kilams (Kurdish songs), then made a statement in reaction to the attacks.
Speaking afterwards, Emine Şenyaşar stated that they do not want young people to die and said, "What do you want from Kobanê? Let this persecution end. I fought for 7 years for justice. They persecuted me. They killed my children, but I could not stop saying justice. I will continue to call for justice for Kobanê."
'THE WORLD RESPECTS THE ROJAVA SYSTEM'
Speaking lastly, Ferit Şenyaşar from DEM Party said the following: "While the world respects the system in Rojava, Turkey sees it as a threat. Turkey should not see Kobanê as a threat. We condemn the attacks on Rojava by gangs. Protecting the Rojava revolution means protecting the will of the peoples to live together. It is everyone's duty to protect Rojava. We are on the eve of the great peace. 2025 must be the year of peace. Dark hands should not remove the hope of peace. Everyone should solidarise with Rojava."
The statement ended with the slogan "Bijî berxwedana Rojava (Long live resistance of Rojava)" and applause.
